TechTalk and New Year's reception

Group picture of the new year's toast

We toasted together to a good, healthy and happy 2023!

After the slimmed-down form of the New Year's reception in January this month we were able to do it all over again! The event of February was an internal TechTalk, where we also toasted together to 2023!✨

cocktails, drinks & food!🍹

As welcome drinks we had to appropriate cocktails on the menu: the 💙 Blue Lagoon and the ❤️ Cranberry Vodka, of course inspired by the logo of Competa IT. After the opening of the event we toasted, of course with champagne, to a good, healthy and happy 2023!🥂 After that it was time for dinner, where we enjoyed delicious Surinamese catering, with fried rice, chicken and chicken satay on the menu.🍗

TechTalks by Rik, Fouad and Fabian🎤

outRik kicked things off with a presentation about how programming languages match and differ from real spoken languages. Fouad was the second speaker and he talked about his new BI project and what he has done so far. He also talked about the further course of the project and what they are working towards to. Last but nog least was Fabian, where he talked about his project at KLM✈️ He showed us which form(s) of Design Thinking he uses and what the result are.

pubquiz🍀

After a short break it was time for the last part of the evening: the Pubquiz!! Points could be earned through five categories with five questions each (on different subjects) - with bonus points for speed🚀 It also featured a bonus category with questions about a few (non-participating) colleagues, with each three lies and one truth about them, which sometimes led to surprised reactions😜 Or course we also had a prize for the winner of the pubquiz. None other than Nigel was the one who went home as the winner of an XL Deluxe Drink package🍻

All in all it was a very pleasant and informative evening. May we be off to a good start for all the other events of 2023!!🥂
